File Type Mapping

Are you bored of getting a link sent to you in an email or SMS you click the link wanting it to open in your Opera Mini or soon Firefox Mobile browser but no it always opens it that shabby S60 Web Browser! Not anymore there is a way to fix this problem which I am just trialling. If it works well I will post a guide on how to do it!

That is assuming that anyone wants to know or this hasn't already been posted! I have searched and couldn't find it.

I tried it and I have managed to map all my music files to RealPlayer and other things like that. However Opera Mini does not show up in my applications pane for me to set all my Web files to it. I will see if this can be fixed, I am already doing a DVD conversion guide, so this will be another to add to my list of them.

It'd be handy if you could :)

On another note...is it possible to associate certain file types, i.e: rar, WITH the default browser?

Yes I can do that but why would you? I mean it isn't like the browser would be able to do anything with the rar file it would probably crash.

If you can associate some application to RAR files, the browser can download the file without crashing. Then, one can hide the download UI (right softkey), so that after the download is finished, the browser will give the possibility to open the file later, what means, file will remain there after it has been downloaded

Are you developing some application like "Filetypes" plugin for Y-tasks?

Best regards
