Easy method of hacking N95 to allow installation of unsigned apps

one question....i hope its not a dumb one lol

when i use y-browser to copy the files to c:/sys/bin i go into c then system folder but there is no bin folder. do i need to create one or am i doing something wrong?

Hi Guys !!

I've tried this method to hack my new N95 8Gb (N95-4 NAM or RM-421) because I wanted to move some applications I learnt to love on my old N95-1.

Unfortunally, a new phone also means a new IMEI and my Symbian Cert is useless. Some of the apps I need to sign are rejected by Open Signed (Who knows why !! )

One of the unsigned apps I love is Skystream SkyeQuickey or, "What the Symbian dialing should be". If anyone ignores what is it about, Google for it, you won't regret !!

The hack allowed the application yo install with no problems but, it now doesn't to auto-start as it usually did on my old N95-1 with the same self-signed application.

Is any of the hacking master here aware of this behavior ? Is only me with this problem ? Can anyone reproduce it with this or another application ?

Sorry but whenever i try to install Y-browser it shows a Certificate error..i also tried the updated version of Y-browser ....
I'm using a N95-2.
Plz help :(

The only folder I see is the sys folder.

Carbide C++ can be found from Symbian Developer Network - Tools & SDKs - Developer tools - Critical tools

is this what I want?

Where do you get HelloCarbide (and right version) - I read it causes virus scan alerts (I doubt I have a virus scanner)

Why do all apps have to be signed?

I am doing this because I want to use Rotate Me!

What is CProfDriver_SISX.ldd for?

Also after installing this hack and installing ROMPatcher should I need these 2 files or I can delete them and use only ROMPatcher?

Asking this because I deleted these 2 files, restarted phone and it crashed soon after reboot, I needed to remove the battery to unfreeze it. It was the first and only time when my N95-2 crashed. Anyway with this 2 files in place, HelloCarbide and ROMPatcher installed and running no problems so far.
