Also after installing this hack and installing ROMPatcher should I need these 2 files or I can delete them and use only ROMPatcher?

Asking this because I deleted these 2 files, restarted phone and it crashed soon after reboot, I needed to remove the battery to unfreeze it. It was the first and only time when my N95-2 crashed. Anyway with this 2 files in place, HelloCarbide and ROMPatcher installed and running no problems so far.
CProfDriver_SISX.ldd is to make CapsOn/Off work, theres no need to have it if your only using ROMpatcher :)

You need installserver.exe in the right folder, and you can uninstall HelloCarbide, as its only needed to hack the phone, to allow you to copy installserver.exe :)

ROMPatcher provides the same functionality as CProfDriver_SISX.ldd, right? Or it is for ROMPatchers 'Disable Caps' function to work properly or CapsOn/Off is standalone app?

installserver.exe allows installing unsigned apps with maximum privileges, right? Without installserver.exe ROMPatcher will not install? ROMPatchers Caps Off function provides the same functionality allowing to install unsigned apps or simply allows to view really hidden folders?

Maybe too much questions in single post :) New to this Symbian thing, I can figure it out by myself using trial and error, but shared knowledge is also good source of information.

ROMpatcher has it's own driver, instead of CProfDriver_SISX.ldd.

CProfDriver_SISX.ldd. is only needed if you want to have CapsOn/Off, but ROMpatcher does exactly the same, plus allows patching of ROM drive files, like removing WLAN, search etc from the active standby, leaving just the icons.

ROMpatcher will not install without installserver.exe, no, as it's an unsigned application. Same for CapsOn/Off.

Basically, installserver.exe is the program that allows the installation of any unsigned apps with all privilages, so you will need that to install ROMpatcher or any other unsigned applications.

The caps on / off funtion is both the same with ROMpatcher, and the CapsOn/Off apps, and what it simply does is allow you to view those hidden files and folders that Nokia didn't give us access too. CapsOn/Off doesn't allow you to install unsigned apps, thats what installserver.exe is for.

Hope that helps! Any more questions, just ask :)

Thanks mark165, I got answers for all my questions.

Also I like to add that ROMPatcher is great app, I finally silenced that camera shutter sound. Adding camera silencing patch to system startup is much easier than having to switch to silent profile every time when need to take a photo.

STEP 3:

Connect Your phone using data transfer mode and copy the other 2 files (installer.exe and CProfDriver_SISX.ldd) to a directory somewhere on the phone (remember where!) I copied mine to E:\Hack

STEP 4: - READ CAREFULLY!!!

Open up Y-Browser
Hit the menu key (so Y-Browser is still running in the background)
Run HelloCarbide from your applications folder.
Click options >> Menu1
--it will say Done....probably
Then click Yes
Go back to Y-Browser
Copy the 2 files mentioned in Step 3 to C:\SYS\BIN

Copied from the first post and highlighted. I can't explain it any better

When you have downloaded the zip file from the first post unzip it and you will find the 2 files mentioned, put these onto your phone and then move them as described.

But are they really getting copied back to the PC (drive C:)?

I tried putting these files in E:\SYS\BIN but made no difference still had a problem with an expired cert.

the C: drive mentioned refers to the phone memory not PC drive. Expired certs are dealt with differently to unsigned I believe. Just roll your date back 1 year before installing the app with expired cert, then put the date back to the correct one after installation.
