Took me about 2 1/2 hours and a lot of frustration to figure out, so i thought i'd sign up somewhere and 'share the wealth'
not to mention it rocks being able to install whatever you want!

WOW!, Thanks, you make it sound so easy...although only having my N95-2 for a little over 24 hours has me pondering whether I should or not....It would just be my luck to get a problem which stops me from doing a reset and had to send it back "as is"
*EDIT*
...although, my wifes N95-1 is almost a year old and she is due an upgrade soon anyhoo

Well I bought my N95 8GB last weekend, and hacked it two days later hehe, i was a bit worried about making it a brick, but i had success! =D I've also done my mates N95-1. Again he was all worried, so i did it while he was engrossed in guitar hero :P
I guess i can't give you any garuntees, but i can give you my word that i've done two phone's successfully without any side effects.

Wasn't this thread already covered by GSi-R?? he even put a link to where you can follow the walkthrough. GSi-R titled it "Hack for N95-3"..so ill give credit to GSi-R for that and i'd give my thanks to him.

Ok i had a look, that's the Caps On/Caps Off method, it doesn't work with the latest 8gb ( N95-2) firmware
The method I used draws from part of that process to unlock the SYS folder, then the installer modifies the write permissions during phone boot up.
So yeh......GSi-R's one is different, and a little more lengthly i found.
