Hi I am really interested in doing this, a few quick questions.

Seems a lot of people have done it on their old n95, would this work for the 8gb version running V20 firmware??

If I was to upgrade my firmware in the future, would this be affected and would I have to repeat the process again?

Many thanks guys for your help.

Yes it will work on your phone matey, and yes you'll have to re do it when you update firmware, as they wipes the phone memory.

It only takes 5 mins to do, best thing I did.

Right I have been on the Noka S60 scene for 2 days and I have just tried this and it works absolutely perfectly, complete prompts to the original poster for making this method for a noob like me completely easy to follow. Just installed a signed app and it worked sweet!

I used a slightly different method, which i think is easiest, and the best:

1) Copy the three files from the zip to your phone's memory card.
2) Open a file browser like X-Plore and KEEP IT RUNNING.
3) Install and run HelloCarbide, go to options, then choose menu1. Keep pressing yes until it closes.
4) Switch to X-Plore and copy installserver.exe into the "c:\sys\bin\" folder of your phone.
5) Restart your phone.
6) Install ROMPatcher.sisx and enjoy all the freedom that ROMPatcher gives you.

Download this zip for all the needed files:
NewHack180608.zip

ROMPatcher allows you to use various patches, like to get rid of active standby text, leaving just the icons, plus many more. Also lets you enable and disable caps, therefore no need for the caps on / caps off app, which means you don't need CProfDriver_SISX.ldd either, as ROMPatcher includes it's own driver in the app itself, making it easier.

There are many patches that you can use with ROMPatcher available on Symbian-Freak.
