Easy way to allow you to install any app on your N95 UNSIGNED
Hey, I've found a really really easy way to hack your N95 to install unsigned apps - and also to enable you to access system directories etc on demand - which is easily disabled again so as to let apps like N-Gage still work. You can find the tutorial by clicking the link below:

Hope this helps some people!

That process is just the same, apart from the bit to allow N gage games to run.
Worth having a link for anyway.
Thanks.

I reccomend you to download ROMpather ( link in my post here: Easy method of hacking N95 to allow installation of unsigned apps )
The hacking process is the same, except you only need to copy installserver.exe, and you don't need CapsOn/Off. The advantage with ROMpatcher, is that you can use it to patch many things on your phone, like you can customise the active standby screen, and other things. I made a patch which gets rid of the running task icons too, theres loads out there now!

Yeah, I had rompatcher, I'm not sure if it was an older version or what, but it rebooted the phone every time I closed it - and I didn't want to have to just minimize it. Also the standby screen icons thing was great, but every time I rebooted I had to switch off active standby, apply patch, switch on active standby... it was more effort then it should have been.
Thanks for the suggestion though!!

Its all changed now!
There is a .SIS version, so you can just install it the normal way you'd install an appliaction. You can close it without it re-starting your phone, and it will autostart the patches on re-boot if you wanted it too.
I found that if you used a re-boot application, the patch stays enabled, leving the active stanby patch still working, also turns the phone off and on quicker too, but if you use the button and swtich it off, you have to disable and re-enable active standby, but you wonldnt need to enable the patch again, as you can set it to auto start.

Wow, just installed the new RomPatcher, it's much better than the old version!
Is there anywhere I can get more scripts for it... like some form of central location for them?

Its alot better isnt it! Much easier with a simple .sis file too. I keep all the files on my memory card, so if i need to reformat the phone, i can hack the phone again straight away!
As for the patches, look on Symbian freak. You need to be a member to get to the modding area, but there's loads of people posting hacks and patches there. Look out for c2z.
The Z drive is your ROM drive, where moost of the system settings are, and can not be edited. c2z puts your C: drive before the Z: drive, alowing you to patch most files from the Z: drive, by making a copy of the file you want patching from Z: and putting it in the same place on the C: drive.
