NSS Product Code: N/A
My first post:
I installed NSS, ran it, pressed "scan for new devices", then went to "phone info" and hit "scan".
I got Phone version, IMEI and the rest of the first 5 lines of info correctly, but "product code" along with all the rest of the fields on the list (warranty start and end, etc.) have a value of "n/a".
Does anybody have a clue what this means? Am I safe to change the product code and go ahead with reinstalling the firmware?
General info:
N95 8GB, RM-320. Came with firmware v15 and I upgraded the firmware to v20 without changing the product code...yes, I MUST debrand!
BTW, NSU tells me I CAN re-install the firmware, so my plan was to change the product code, reinstall and hope it's debranded. Any fault in my logic?
THANKS!

Thanks Micky,
Well I downloaded NSS103814.zip. The guide you linked to links to an earlier version (NSS103812.zip). Also, after "Phone Info" I have the option to click on "scan" not "read".
Other than that it's all the same.
Maybe this picture will better illustrate what I mean by "Product Code N/A"

You need to click on READ. Then tick enable, then rewrite your product code in (Where the original is in blue once you press READ).

Ohhh.. you mean THAT "read" button... I was looking at the grayed out "read" button below the "Scan" button...thanks!
And just to sneak in a second question in there: If I change the product code and REINSTALL the same firmware I already have...should that debrand my phone?
The **** thing has the Italian TIM setup and it's driving me nuts.
many thanks

Yes, reinstall the same firmware, and it will debrand it, providing you change the product code to a debranded one.

You, sir, are a scholar.
I'll do this:
- write down all the apps I'll reinstall
- copy pics and videos out of the phone into my PC
- format the memory card
- The debrand/reinstall FW.
Is there anything else you advice before the big plunge?
Thanks!

Make sure your battery is fully charged, or have your charger connected whilst reinstalling your firmware.

It all worked great, thanks!
Had quite a scare there for a minute...when it still read "update will take 15 minutes" during the firmware upgrade the whole thing crashed...but a couple of phone reboots later I was back on my feet and it finished without another hitch.
thanks again.
