unlocking
is it yet possible to unlock a n95 to any sim? i know it was not possible a while back, is this still the case. thank you

Couple of notes..
O2 handsets come unlocked from the factory.
Vodafone offer a free unlocking service for customers of 12 months or more, or charge £19.99 to unlock via phone.

Short answer is yes.
And no, it's not a DIY job which you can do yourself, unless you have the required hardware, software and expertise.

its on orange, its my brother in laws, so he would have to take it to a shop to get it done, does it update the firmwear as well? thank you all

Unlocking the phone for all networks is completely unrelated to upgrading the firmware, however the shop can definitely do it if available (i.e. if the phone does not have the latest release already), but they will probably charge extra, while it can easily be done for free by anyone with a computer and access to the Internet. As recommended check out the Tips and FAQs section, read up on debranding as well.
