I cant stand it when people bang on about their right to pirate something because of the price it costs. People these days expect stuff given to them (I sound old, dont I). I understand people use cracked stuff, fine. Just dont keep shouting you do in the people that funds it faces.

People rampantly copying satnav stuff are the reason I (and others) have to pee about with all this registration and codes stuff.

For everyone complaining about the N95's price and hobbeled GPS, you have it all wrong.

Your paying for the phone, have you seen what it does? Can you see what its capable of? The maps application is merely something you can use to make use of it.

Ive never seen the N95 advertised as a driving satnav device, but more like a where am I device. Which is exactly what it does with nokia maps, and you can get directions to things.

And when alls said and done, voice subscription is cheap. Yes, you have to carry on paying for it, but then map updates are free, they are not on other GPS software. Swings and roundabouts people.

If you dont like nokia maps (I dont, its a POS imo), get something else. The N95 has GPS capability, so use it.

Not allowing hacked/cracked software on a forum does not mean you cannot discuss the bad points of the N95, nor any improvements.

I think everyone agrees here that it could have done with more ram and a bigger battery among other things?

So if you want your illegal software, go to some other forums where you have a chance of picking up a virus and a not so friendly community.

Or better yet, why not just make your own forum for cracks etc, instead of using really poor excuses like 'how can you discuss the bad points of the phone' simply because you cant get your hacked program?

Rant over.

It's all about marketing. Maybe Nokia should sell it like the operators do...

= "£5 a month and Free Sat Nav"

People seem to ignore the cost when you put the word FREE in the sentence!

"Yeah, I pay £30 a month for 18 Months and the phone was FREE"
Er, no mate, it's costing you £540 actually, the majority of which goes to pay for the handset.

I didn't post a link, simply said I managed to find it. I mean Google isn't that hard to use. However for the sake of keeping the peace I will not post on this topic anymore.

Also please don't PM me for the link as I won't give it.

No matter now, the site you referred to no longer exists on the internet. It has vanished.

When you say that people aren't allowed to talk about pirated software, I find that very odd. I understand that you don't want links to cracked software, but still, if I want to discuss it with other members, I can't really see how that would affect you/your forum in any way. Since there is something called freedom of speech, there is in no way any danger to discuss pirated software. Thus the police won't come busting in and stealing your computers, just because someone on the forum is discussing pirated programs.

The purpose of this site is to enable users of the N95 and its associated software to help and inform each other and amongst our members are developers, who contribute towards the information that's available. We support developers and don't encourage members to obtain the results of their work without payment, therefore discussion of cracked/hacked software etc., is not permitted.

Should you feel the need to exercise your hypothetical 'freedom of speech', there are many sites on the 'Net where such discussion is allowed... This Is Not One Of Them!

Freedom of Speech does not apply to fora.
They are governed by a set of rules, deemed suitable by the owner.
