Automatic e-mail retrieval

The automatic e-mail retrieval function is very useful, but I find the minimum 30 minute interval far too long. Does anyone know, please, if there is any way to shorten this to 5 minutes, or even 1 minute?

Many thanks,

Allan

Minimum retrieval for me is 5 minutes

This is on the v20 firmware; Maybe you need to update?

Thank you very much for your reply. I have just tried to update using the Nokia Software Updater but it reports "You phone already has the latest supported software. No update needed." It shows "Firmware version Current: 12.0.013"

Could you possibly point me to somewhere I can find v20?

Many thanks again!

Allan

If you take a look at:
Upgrading Firmware when not allowed by NSU

You can change the product code and then update. Though doing this "could" void your phone warranty (loads of people have updated using this method including myself)

Thank you, I've just changed the code and v2 is installing as I write! I'm very grateful for the help.

Hmmmmm ... well the product code change (to 0536062 EURO1 - Plum) worked. Then the update to v2 worked. But still only 30 minutes to 6 hours automatic retrieval settings are available. Perhaps different country codes have different options? Any more ideas, please?

Thanks!

Allan

Actually, I think I have the answer: I suspect Gizmoratty is using an IMAP4 mailbox, whereas I'm using POP3. The former has the 5 minute option, but the latter doesn't!

Well at least I got an updated and un-o2-branded phone! Now, if anyone knows how to make POP3 automatic retrieval check the server every 5 minutes (or make the IMAP4 check a POP3 server!) I would be very grateful...
