T-mobile only offered V12 as the latest so i changed product code and debranded to V20. When i sent my phone in (because it was making a high pitched noise during a call from the lcd) it came back with a fresh V20 install. They did know that it was a T-Mobile branded handset as i showed my reciept and box which had T-Mobile on them but that phone got stolen a couple of weeks back. So i now have a new one which i debranded again

I know people who have experiences with orange aswell - if the handset needs replacing, they'll just swap it on the door. No questions asked.

Just to add my experience Stone, I debranded my phone updated from v12 to v20, phone freaked out during backup-restore I couldnt change the product code back and had to send it back to retailer to get fixed/replaced. Got it back with a fresh v20 still under warrenty. Keep in mind that v20 is Still not available from my telco. Anyway phone crashed again so I took it to nokia directly, insides of phone were replaced and v12 installed. Still under warranty. Changed product code again, updated to v20 backup-restore fine(only contacts) and phone is working great is. Short answer-I have not experienced any warranty issues at all...That reminds me, I still need to chand product code back to original.

Hello wayne, thank you for that.
Your post and other previous ones in this threads are I think what people want to read when thinking about debranding and conserving a valid warranty.
Cheers.

Maybe people should read this as well, just to have the correct and full information before making their decision about debranding and upgrading, etc.:
Who is on O2 and running v20 firmware?

Just to inform you guys that a NSU update with the incorrect product code WILL result in your handset being refused repair if the NSC follows correct/present procedures !
Just ask Spook ;)

Interesting, but why?
In all my experiences, taking it to the latest firmware generally fixes issues rather than creating them. I don't understand the whole branding thing anyway. What's the point?
If my handset was still on the Network Firmware, it would have gone back by now! (please see some of my early posts for evidence/ranting/child-like behaviour)
