I am using gmail IMAP also... Have you completely removed the app and mailbox and then re-installed the app from the website?

May be worth a shot.

I have the app installed and if i press sync it goes off and gets the email no problem, however i understand the idea of this service is that email gets pushed to the device when received by the mail server and this doesnt seem to be happening.

The application is running in the background (its in the task list) and in 'when to sync' i have the interval set to 'email push only'

am i missing something ?

cheers,

malty

i think i got it, you need to select 'go online' which initiates the network connection, although it seems to be a full network connection and eats the battery rather

Anyone uninstalled this yet?

I've experienced a few problems so far, mainly the one where the app disappears from task manager meaning I have to start the app again.

Strangely, even when the app is not there, I still get email pushed to me. Surely this means although the app is not showing as running it still is. This leads me to believe that when I choose to exit the app although task manager does not show it, it may still be running.

Not impressed so far but trying to persevere!

As this is a beta, I wonder if Nokia will release another version for us?

the problem with this service is that push email really needs to be a network function, not a 3rd party one. The app needs to be signed in to the nokia server constantly which is unrealistic. A proper push email device is exactly that, the email is pushed to the device by the network "when needed"

with the way the nokia service works, you may as well have any old email client with a short check interval set.

nice idea and not badly executed but it doesnt quite hit the mark for me.

I installed it and then I realized it needs a continuous network connection to Nokia server, I uninstalled it. I will wait for the final version to see how it shapes up.

Agree with Maltloaf - it's not the solution the NSeries devices are crying out for!

Personally, I prefer SEVEN. I have said it before I know but I think a good service deserves good press. It's far from pretty but it's a whole site better than Nokia's latest offering IMO.

Yeah, it's a sort of interval check-push hybrid. I have unlimited (FUP) data, so I'm sticking with it for now - do like the interface.

Unfortunately it sticks to one connection which is a shame. I love the simple and flawless switching between wifi and GPRS in Fring. And sadly, even with Fring loaded, NokiaMail still uses just the one connection.

Also, since installing it, I regularly get various erors when closing other apps.

(For future searches "KERN-EXEC 3")

(For future searches "ViewSrv 11")

Anyone else experienced this?
