Skype
I dont suppose anyone has an idea of if/when a proper skype client is going to be released? Specifically pro.
About to try fring, but Im doubting it has the full functions of skype, and I have heard lots about it not being good quality.
Is there any other clients that work with skype?
It has to be skype compatible, so not truephone (which I beleive is differant altogether) etc.
I know things have been posted a bit similar to this before, but nothing recent.

I don't think so, unless you are on 3, which seems to boast a Skype client, not sure of functionality though...
I use Fring. Latest version is fine for calls, messaging and sending files. Also good because you can have your MSN contacts in there too, etc...
Try it, you can always uninstall, eh.

I have, and fring is horrible. Nasty UI, and very flaky. Main problem is no-one can ring me, and contacts do not show as online. However, if they are online I can ring them (call quality is pretty nasty though).
But mainly, I need the functions of skype pro. Im awaiting a reply from them about it. Ho hum.

Can't of course comment on UK, but here in Aus, the 3 skype is not able to use WiFi. It is locked into 3g use only with 3's data plan. That's why it's not available to other networks who don't seem to boast the same data plans as 3. |

Just thought I would post it for anyone waiting. I personally use Fring, for Skype and MSN. I use Truphone for IP calls which I find great, so Fring suits me fine for keeping all my Chat contacts together.
The Skype app is pretty, but doesn't seem upto much at present.
