mobile TV apps - what's the latest?
Hi all,
I used to enjoy the often blocky but nicely free content of Vimio's Live TV app on my N95 but as it's now no longer working I wondered what alternatives there are now?
My provider (T-Mobile) offers some mobile TV channels for a few quid a month but I'm hoping to be able to see what I pay my 100 odd quid TV license for on my mobile as well...
I'm really hoping BBC will release a version of the iplayer for the N95 after the Beta testing with the iPhone...
I take it DVB-H wouldn't be a possibility with the N95 as I guess it's actual hardware within the phone isn't it?

OK - now I'm freaked out...
The second I posted this I got an e-mail from Vimio saying live tv will be relaunched next week!!!
I don't recall having any communication from them since getting it last year!
Weird or what!
In case you're interested, here's what it says:
Vimio TV will be re-launched early next week,
You will need to delete the current application on your phone and then re-install when the serviced is
commissioned.
Sorry for the delay but we need to upgrade to a much better version.
We hope to be back on Air next Monday 21st April 2008.
Thanks for you support

Dvb-h
Last week i went to a presentation of DVB-H here in Holland. It is being Launched jointly by two big networks over here. The quality was very good (altho demonstrated on a smaller screened Samsung rather than our well endowed N95 screen).
Next to that presentation was a demonstration of streaming tv from a pc at home with a tuner and over UMTS via a UMTS router.
To be honest, because of the size of the screen, the quality was about the same to the eye.
I am not sure that DVB-H will replace streaming tv. The setup cost if huge for the networks (which is why 2 have joined in the venture over here).
I heard it is up and urnning in Italy, but thats about it. Everyone else is doing tests.

I'm trying to remember now, I think you had CNN, Sky News and a few other channels, like home-made type ones? I'm not sure what the new line up might be...
I can imagine things like Paramount Comedy/Sky One/Cartoon Network might request payment to access like with the TV you get with UK providers.

Just loaded it. 2 Channels:
BBC World and some random Music channel.
Works though.

i allowed it to send the registration sms and when i went back into the app it prompted me again to send the sms. I checked my sent items and a text went to some +46 number with some numbers and letters. May be my imei, i haven't checked.
Hope these texts aren't at a premium rate...
