Orb was only working for me when i was streaming via WiFi. I have read this is the case for many people too.
but now it IS (IS IS IS IS) possible to stream via Three and rid your phone of the infamous "server timeout" message. Heres how:
NB: The problem is with (you guessed it) RealPlayer. You have to create a new access point. This works for Three customers only.
1. Make a new access point:
Menu>Settings>Connection>Access Points
Click 'Options' and select 'New access point'
2. Use these settings:
Connection Name: 3 internet (or anything you like)
Data Bearer: Packet Data
Access point name: "3netaccess"
User name: None
Prompt password: No
Password:
Authentication: Normal
Homepage:
http://www.3portal.com.au
3. You can connect to ORB anyway you like, but in order to stream realplayer MUST use the "3 internet" access point (the new one you just made) SO:
Menu>Applications>Media
Select Realplayer
go into settings>streaming>network
Change the default access point to 3 internet
4. sit back and enjoy. you can now stream music, tv, video over the internet and get it WHEREVER you are.
5. if things ever turn sour, double check:
ORB SHOULD CONNECT VIA PLANET 3
REALPLAYERS DEFAULT ACCESS POINT SHOULD BE 3 INTERNET.
I hope this works for you. cheers
