CoPilot 7 - Routing Issues just on N95?

Hello,

Not sure where to ask this, have contacted ALK suppiort but they have not been overly helpful so I am just wondering if this is just me or a problem with the software.

I have CoPilot 7 on my phone, it works ok however there are a couple of routing issues I have come accross and was wondering if anybody else had them.

Firstly when routing to Avoid Motorways - the software sends you on the most stupid routes down country lanes, often miles out of the way. This can be fixed partially by selecting RV as vehicle type though.

Avoid certian parts of a route - there is an option to avoid a certian road. This does not actually avoid the road, at all, is it just me?

Avoid a traffic incident - the other night I was traveling back home and got notified of a traffic incident on route (a junction of the motorway had been shut due to roadworks). I selected the Avoid Incident option as the junction in question was the one I would have taken. The suggested alternative route was an extra 17 miles and 38 minutes estimated!! This would be ok if there was no other route but this was near where I live and I know of at least 4 other routes that only add about 5 - 10 muniutes and 5 miles max to the route.

Finally, probablly the worst. When calculating a route (this was with Avoid Motorways, there are no motorways on this route but that was my default option).

Now I looked at the route on the mini map and checked the interiary, made perfect sense and basically followed the main road. Until I set off then it changed it's mind (I had not gone off the route at any point either so it did not have to recalculate). Anyway, the proposed new route took about 20 minutes longer and added about 7 miles onto the journey.

I have no real gripes with CoPilot appart from these routing issues, the ETA is very accurate albeit that sometimes you might be able to shave several miles and minuites off your journey (if you knew where you were going, which kind of defeats the idea of satnav).

Maybe this is just my installation but I have reinstalled and it seems to be the same but surely these are quite large problems so has anybody else experianced them?

Lee

I havent encountered those problems, but then I havent used either the avoid motorways function, or the traffic one.

Im afraid I dont have any suggestions, and your findings seem to be at odds with what I have expirenced.

Currently Im having issues reactivating in on my new phone, so I cant look at all the exact options. Certainly doesnt sound right though.
