Arrow Console emulators for N95 (Symbian V3)

This thread is all about console emulators on the N95. The best and only way to play console emulators on an N95 is by remapping the media keys using magickey. You can get magickey by clicking here, but you'll have to sign it or hack your phone. If you like me have found signing to be a complete nightmare, I would suggest this guide to hack your phone. This guide worked perfectly on my phone and can be easily uninstalled.

Here is a list of some of the more recent consoles and some of the emulators that I have found. Where possible I have rated them, however maybe peeps could add their own emulators and reviews or even new consoles which I haven't listed. I have also added a link to the emulator where possible. Message me if anyone has any better suggestions for links, especially free or improved emulators.
1. Master System
  • I can't find a decent emulator for this console, MasterGear sucks lemons due to limited functionality. Does anyone have any other suggestions?
2. Sega Mega Drive (Genesis)
3. Nintendo Entertainment System
  • vNes - Could someone please review this and message me back?
  • (Please note this is the trial version. Let me know if anyone knows of a free NES emulator for Symbian V3.)
4. Super Nintendo Entertainment System
  • vSun - Could someone please review this and message me back?
  • (Please note this is the trial version. Let me know if anyone knows of a free SNES emulator for Symbian V3.)
5. Game Boy
  • vBoy - Runs perfectly.
  • (Please note this is the trial version. Let me know if anyone knows of a free Game Boy emulator for Symbian V3.)
6. Game Boy Colour
  • vBoy - Runs perfectly.
  • (Please note this is the trial version. Let me know if anyone knows of a free Game Boy Colour emulator for Symbian V3.)
7. Game Boy Advance
  • vBagX - Runs perfectly.
  • (Please note this is the trial version. Let me know if anyone knows of a free Game Boy Advance emulator for Symbian V3.)

Does anyone have any suggestions for a decent Master System emulator for Symbian V3? I've heard you can install a Master System emulator for the GBA and run it through vBagX. Has anyone tried this?

This is driving me nuts, it would be wicked to play Alex Kidd on my phone like I did when I was a kid.

As far as I'm aware, Picodrive for Symbian V3 is alpha stage software based on the original Picodrive and isn't cracked.

Send a message via ICQ to Stainy
So that would explain why settings can`t be saved, like scren orientation and keys?

I've tried them all and everything runs at full speed except the snes emulator vsun. Sound needs to be turned off to be playable and even than its still too slow to run comfortably. Pico drive (genesis) and vbag (GBA) run perfect, vbag has alot of games that just don't boot up though.

The version of Picodrive which I'm using saves the screen orientation and the correct key settings. Click here to download it and see if it allows you to save your settings. Let me know if it works and can you also let us know which phone you are running it on? Cheers

Could you post which phone you tried vSun on and which games you have had difficulty loading on vBag as it may just be a problem with the roms which you have.

The phone I used was the n95 8gb. Of the gba roms I have, I have problems playing advance wars 2 (known problem, 1 works fine), caesars palace, golden sun (known problem), grand theft auto, pinball of the dead, and pokemon pinball.

Thank you for the clarification with regards to the games which do not play correctly on vBagX. Have you had any luck with other games or different versions of the roms which don't have known problems with vBagX? Also have you mapped your keys using magic key?
