Hello everybody!

I`n new to this forum and the N95.. (of course I am..)

My question: Is there a player like VLC or TCPMP to our phone? I hate to convert files, dont understad why people put so much time into programming such things, why not a player that suport lots of files?

Generally, the files you have are much bigger on your PC than what is required on your phone, and space is a concern, 2GB is the max any N95 user can have! Having said that tho, there is a S60V3DixPlayer.sis file out there somewhere, I had a copy but deleted it as I tend to convert my files.

SmartMovie will play unconverted avi's, but is an unstable pile of crap and complete waste of money.

Apparently the Divx player is better, you can get if from here, but will have to sign up first (costs nothing, just set up a user account).

They're basically both the same software. I convert with the smartmovie software and play it on the divx player- but I think it's pretty much the same software... looks like smartmovie player is actually missing a couple of options- though it looks almost identical.

The divx player plays full size divx files like junk. Perhaps the N95 isn't powerful enough to play divx files of any large size. A 300-400 mb one hour show will start to break up after a couple minutes, and loses A/V sync almost instantly. When converted with smartmovie to a file around 80 mb, the picture looks pretty good, and there are no sync issues. I think it's the processing power of the N95. Doesn't divx require about 350mhz processor anyway for decent playback? Seems like I remember that back in the infancy of divx when it was normal to come across a pc that didn't have that much power.
