Been looking for a decent golf app that allows me to track my score around a course and perhaps be able to analyse my game a little. GPS would be a nice touch as it would allow me to understand better what sort of distances I am getting.
I've installed and tried a few demo versions.
Wireless 18 - works quite well as a simple scorecard.
We Golf - have installed but not tried yet as I need to get a registration code from them..
Intelligolf - this looks like it might be clever - but the interface feels a bit clunky. Does GPS but doesn't seem to recognise the
N95 GPS only BT devices.
Mobi-Caddie - found this on the Hong Kong Nokia site. Works with the
N95 GPS so you can track individual shots, has a nice user friendly interface. But it seems to have been made for a SE Asia market. The inbuilt courses are SE Asian as is the payment pages. The municipal courses I generally play are unlikely to figure in anybodys database of courses (although there is an upload facility in Wireless18) so I know I'll have to setup my own courses.
What I think I want is to be able to mark the tee using GPS and be able to make a note of the club used and whether it hit the fairway, went left, right, bunker or water, and then walk on down to my ball. Marking where it landed with the GPS to capture the distance, I'm then ready for my second stroke so it would be mark, note the club, left right etc and repeat until I hole out.
Then onto the next hole.
Wondering if there are any other
N95 users out there with a similar requirement who've had any experience of what works well before I spend some money....
