Software to scan barcodes into PC?

Is there any software that will transmit barcodes scanned by the N95 to the PC (by USB, bluetooth, wifi, whatever) for use with media management software (MediaMan/Libra in particular)? If not, how hard would it be to write?

are you talking 2D or 3D bar codes? The N95 already has a built in barcode scanner that does 3D barcodes so from a coding point of view it shouldn't be too hard to write a python script to grab that info and upload it. However AFAIK there's no such program out there right now.

Both - whatever's on CDs/DVDs/books.

I know the N95 has a 2D and 1D barcode scanner - I just want to know if there's any software that will feed it to MediaMan or is it stuck inside the N95? I think there are many potential uses for piping barcode scans to a PC.

I too would love a UPC barcode scanner application for the N95. Would come in handy for use on DVD Profiler.

Exact. How hard can it be to grab the text information and feed it to a PC client?

Sounds like an idea that should be put forward to developers. Certainly a good idea for an application, and as said, there's endless uses for this too.

Great, so how would we do that?

I'm amazed nobody's thought of it already and implemented it... Seems the obviously thing to do with the barcode scanner...
