gps locator app...???

Is there any app that will allow me to locate another gps enabled phone (non n95) with they other parties' permission of course.

i'm not sure exactly how it works, but from what i can see sending your location to another person is possible.

Without you sending your GPS location to someone else, and vice versa There is no other way to find their position.

You can't access a remote third party GPS externally. They have to activate their GPS to send a signal to the sat to receive one back, for their location.

GPS doesnt work like that, it simply gets the GPS signals from the satellites and works out the position.

Only way you would be able to view it, is if they send it to you. And you would both have to have compatible programs to do that (Garmin XT for example).

Or, an app from the friends phone that posts it to the web and allows you to view it on a map.

I dont know of one though, would also depend on what phone they have.

You can use the standard MAPS program to cut and paste your GPS location into a text message.
