AmazeGPS - free navigation on N95

Hi,
I just installed Amaze on my N95, works with the internal GPS and does voice navigation. BUT its still in beta and does have a problem when it looses lock it can't regain it, they know of the bug and are working on it.

Looks very good for a free product...

HTH,

Mike

Think it does need an active connection, but if you go into Tools->Appmgr and just select "Ask Once" for net & navigation mine stays connected, as mentioned this can use a lot of data (much less if using turn directions only)

^ unless its opensource ;)

Why does it need the Network? Cant the software simply calculate the route and provide voice navigation? All you really need are the Maps and Voices

that's PAP then, as the one that came with the phone does not need active network usage. Yes you will argue that you have to pay for naviagtion, but I bet it's less that having to use WAP. I'm still trying to wrangle free subscription through my provider ;)

It's my understanding that routes are calculated on THEIR servers!
