Google Maps w/ Street View coming to S60 sometime soon?

I don't know if youve been following it but the google G1 launched (today?) and one of its cool features is google maps with street view. (if you don't know what street view is go on google maps on your PC to any big american city zoom in and click street view its really cool).

Heres a video of it on the G1 (1st video):

Video: Android walkthrough on T-Mobile G1 - Engadget

and theres an article about it on google's blog with a demo of it working on a crackberry:
Official Google Mobile Blog: Street View and walking directions come to Google Maps for mobile

so hopefully this feature will be rolled out to s60 soon!

It may not have street view (yet), but I'm finding the latest version of this extremely useful on my N95.

I find I am using it more than Nokia Maps lately. Nokia Maps is great for navigating from A to B. But most of my map use is not to navigate from A to B (I know my way around this city). Most of my map use is to find something nearby.

Searching for stores, restaurants or pretty much anything on Google Maps seems to give me better results here in Sydney than doing the same on Nokia Maps. The results are better laid out too. I get the name address and even some info/reviews, plus a clickable phone number and web address, the ability to add to contacts with one click etc...

How are the rest of you finding Nokia Maps vs Google Maps?

Exciting! Saw something very similar to this near Exeter yesterday...

Edit: And I always use GMaps - not using Nokia Maps at all!

^^keep in mind that article is from 2007. Google has shot a bunch of canadain cities and hasn't implemented it yet because of privacy concerns. The government asked that they blur faces and license plates - which, seems like a fair request.

But really, when you think about it, google isn't doing anything more than what reqular people already do all the time in a completely approved manner - just really comprehensively.
