An early word of caution:

You have to disable fontrouter before using this app. If not the screen will just flash and the app wont open.

Oh yea, before you open the app, make sure you've set an alarm in the default clock app before opening this app. :)

Talking

So do you have to have the phone in bed with you!lol
Mine sits on bedside table on charge all nite, sticking the phone in bed with me and the missus, while on charge is an accident waiting to happen!

Hope this does work, i hate waking up from deep sleep, and really hate annoying BEEP BEEP BEEP alarms!

I nice subtle alarm and waking up from my arousal zones!!lol heaven!

From reading the article explaining it says it uses the microphone so the bedside table might work if its close enough

Yes you have to put the phone on the bed, but even then it doesn't work too well. It only responds of you move around in the bed, and when i say "move" i literally mean drastic movements and not small stretches.

When i use this i leave it on offline mode to prevent er... cancer and stuff. :D

"The smart alarm clock wakes you up when you in the morning actually are already awake or almost awake. This phase of your sleep is called an arousal."

Er, wakes me up when I'm already awake?

"HappyWakeUp does not try to wake you up when you are in deep and calm sleep..."

Oooookay... So it waits until I'm nearly awake, then wakes me up? Doesn't that mean I might sometimes/often be late for work?

Has something been lost in translation or is this for real?

There are two phases of sleep one is REM (rapid eye movement) where you have dreams etc and the other is your deep sleep phase. When you sleep your brain does not rest throughout, instead the the deep sleep phase and REM alternate. towards morning REM gets more frequent and deep sleep gets shorter. Basically this app will start giving off soft sounds 20 mins before your actually alarm time, hoping that the sounds will wake you during your REM, where your brain is active.
If you move, the app interprets that your brain is active and gives off a louder alarm to wake you. If you do not move/respond, it waits a certain amount of time before doing it again. The process repeats untill the last alarm goes off.

Well this is all based on my understndign of human sleep which i did some reearch on a few years back.
