Viewing .flv movies on the phone

i have a .flv video on my computer which i would like to view with MobiTubia, but i don't know how to get the video into the program.

i tried to send it to E:\Videos\MobiTubia\YT where Mobitubia usually stores its videos, but when i try to open it i get the warning "File Not Supported0:".

any suggestions?

you'd need to install flashlite 3 Adobe Labs - Adobe Flash Lite 3 Developer Edition

alternatively you could upgrade to the latest firmware version 30, if available for your phone

i already have flash lite 3, but i don't see how this is relevant. i'm trying to watch the video with MobiTubia, not flash.

as far as i can tell, flash can only play .swf files, not .flv

the early builds of mobitubia required flashlite 3. well at least on mine it did, when i was on firmware version 21. i had the same problem, and installation of the flashlite plugin cured it.

that aside, are you using the latest version of mobitubia? if not, download here MobiTubia's official site | MobiTubia Official Site

a note from the site:
Quote:
Limitation
- FLV file must encoded in Sorenson-H263 codec (Flash 7)
- Video resolution must not exceed 320x240 pixels
alternatively, you could try emtube http://www.emtube.yoyo.pl/emTube_S60_3_0_v_1_0_11.zip for testing purposes, perhaps see if the .flv file is playable on the phone

N95-1 firmware version 30 however allows .flv files to be played within flash

i can't guarantee that the problem would be solved. there're instances where .flv files won't play, usually its because of the encoding. if its because of unsupported encoding then it can't be helped, unless you re-encode the file.

you don't need to update if you don't wan't to. i used emtube to play .flv files while i was on version 21, didn't like mobitubia personally. found it abit unstable.

there's also a premium software, coreplayer version 1.25 which now supports .flv. but again, emtube does it for free.

Sometimes, you get what you pay for. IMHO this is one of those times.

As a LONG time portable video enthusiast (i still own an Archos Multimedia Jukebox) i have to say Core Player is, by a wide margin, the best software I have ever seen.
