Hi all, I managed to up-date my N95 to the latest firmware and do not seem to be having any problems with the iplayer...but my other half's n95 keeps crashing every time he tries to play any programme on the iplayer.....

has anyone had this problem too or is it down to the fact the up-date to the newest firmware didnt work properley......

the only two differences between our phones is that mine is the plum edition and is on 3 while my other halfs is the oringal colour and is on Orange.

EDIT: LOOKS LIKE THE OTHER HALFS' PHONE IS ON THE BLITZ, KEEPS FREEZING/CRASHING WHEN HE USES THE CAMERA TOO, BETTER HIDE MINE ME THINKS.

Hmm, just debranded my Orange 8gb to V 30.0.018 using the Euro1 code - Now recognises the file as an app, and asks if I wish to install the application to the phone - click the tick, and then I get "please finish the installation on the phone user interface" with the option to click the tick, which I do, and then - nothing else happens.....

Can't see it in any menus either, where am I going wrong?

Mike

I've said this already in the last iplayer thread, but downloading it through the N95 web browser takes the hassle out, no PC required!

Head to the address given at the start of the thread.

Success - copied the widget to the phone, browsed to it from file manager, and ran it - installed and working perfectly :)

No.

As discussed earlier in the thread it's a DRM issue. Either the BBC's DRM is broken or the N95 doesn't support it. Still waiting for someone with an N96 to say if it works for them.

thanks. just seems a bit odd as from what i gather you can only view over wifi so it sort of limits the use on a phone as when im at home i would rather use the pc and if im somewhere with free wifi like a hotel ill have my laptop. If you could download files then you could watch them on the train etc etc.

Hi all,

Got it installed OK. Runs fine and I choose a programme and click 'click to play'. Real player pops up and then says connecting and then loading but it always times out with the message ' Unable to connect to server.server time-out'.:(

This is running it through my home WIFI on my N95-1 with the latest firm ware.

Any ideas?
