Both browser and realplayer access points must be set to your wifi. I hope they give it its own access point when it leaves beta.

N96 version on N95

Last month I downloaded a standalone beta version destined for the N96 on my N95 it displays version 1.5.0 and I have not had any errors on a N95-1 V30 Whoooo I did not know the N96 and N95 would be such blood brother but it worked, so kinda again points to the fact we can all keep upping our 95's on 96 software until the great N97 android iphone basher lands in 2009...........

Hi, Techo Idiot wants info!

How in the blazes do you get the iPlayer to download/watch TV content? As I am a complete idiot, an idoits guide would be beneficial!

Cool

Hi all.

This is my first post here and i hope it's of use to some of you.

I recently acquired an original N95 and have been very impressed with it so far - previously had a 6630 which i liked but it's not really in the same league as the N95.

Found this thread and decided to try iPlayer.
Installed it no problems but when i ran it all i got was the widget screen with no content whatsoever.
A little googling and i found that recently the iPlayer had been updated and would no longer work with the N95 .

All was not lost though - a little more googling and i found a simple hack to re-enable it for the N95!

Post #23 on the BBC Blog gave me all the info i needed.
Runs perfectly on my original N95 - streaming that is, haven't tried downloading yet as i suspect the DRM protected content won't be compatible.

So here it is, iPlayer version 1.5.0 modified to run on n95, n96 and n78.

Download it from HERE.

Martin.

There was just a single modification to make to get it working on the N95.

First renamed iplayer.wgz to iplayer.zip and opened the zip file with WinRAR.
Dragged the iplayer folder to my desktop.

Then opened iplayer\js\app-min.js in Dreamweaver.
Searched for (n85|n96|n78) and changed it to (n95|n96|n78).
Saved the modified file.

Created a new zip file named iplayer.zip and dragged the modified iplayer folder into the new zip archive.

Renamed the zip archive to iplayer.wgz and that was it.

Martin.

ahh yea thats the same as we did before, i thought there might have been a new development as afaik no ones managed to make 3g streaming work on v1.5 for n95/e71 yet. I'll go back to v1 for now then as I can stream on that
