OK. This annoys me somewhat.
The whole point of Skype is the free Skype-to-Skype calls. That is the awesomeness of VoIP in general.
So why... WHY... when I am clearly connected to Wi-Fi, and am trying to make a Skype-to-Skype call, does it ask to dial a number (and therefore charge me for doing so)? Why do I have to pay? Just because it's from a mobile phone? When Fring worked with Skype, that was free. It just used the internet connection, á la desktop Skype.
So why on earth are they trying to charge me for a Skype-to-Skype call? Am I missing something here?
I can kinda see why somebody calling me from their mobile Skype to my mobile Skype should cost something, just for the sake of convenience. But why... if the infrastructure is already there to make it free (i.e. using my internet connection), are they trying to charge me?
VoIP stands for Voice Over Internet Protocol... it rather defeats the point of having VoIP on your phone if it needs to DIAL A NUMBER in order to call your VoIP contact... am I the only one who's thinking this?
Nevertheless, thanks for the link Micky. Guess I'll just have to keep hoping they fix Skype in Fring...
