Setting up Truphone connection

Hi all,

I am having a problem trying to set up truphone with my nokia n95-4. I installed Truphone like the way the website mentioned. However, everytime I select an AP for connection, I can never get connected. The AP Is showing that it's a known connection. Do you know what my problem could be?

If this matters, my AP is a hidden AP, but I'm able to connect to wifi fine with it. Any information you can provide will be helpful.

Thanks

Dear Truphone Customer,

We are sorry to hear that you have experienced a problem connecting to Truphone at an access point.

a. Are you able to browse the web on your handset using the specified access point?
b. Have you connected to Truphone using this access point in the past?
c. Have you been able to successfully connect at other access points / Wi-Fi hotspots?
d. Please can you try rebooting your access point?
e. Can you see a white clover leaf symbol in the top right corner of your
handset?

Successful connection to Truphone is indicated by the Internet telephony icon (handset over globe symbol), found on the top-right of your screen.

If you cannot connect, it is possible that your desired access point is blocking connection on our default ports. You can alter your desired port to the Truphone service, as per below:

1. Open the Truphone application
2. Select Options>Settings>Internet Calls
3. Scroll down to “Transport type” and change to “TCP” or “UDP”
4. Scroll down to “Port” and change to “5060” or “5062”
5. Press “Back” and “Exit” to return to the Truphone application main screen.
6. Highlight your desired access point and choose Options>Connect or
Options-Reconnect

If the above solution does not work you should try the following:
UDP 5060
UDP 5062
TCP 5060
TCP 5062

Please let us know how you're getting on .....

All good stuff above, but just a bit of extra info if that's unsuccessful...

Despite doing all the above, a while back I couldn't get my D-Link 604 router to work with Truphone at all. So I eventually swapped the D-Link for a Thomson and it connects automatically now, 100% every time, usually before I step foot into the house, it's connected.

So it could be down to the hardware.

Send a message via Skype™ to dkhanal
I have had problem with D-link routers before as well...and I rely on Linksys now and it connects automatically every time.
