Profimail will allow most pop3 accounts, such as Gmail.

Hotmail is a pile of trash, and doesn't allow pop3 programs to operate properly. You can try to locate a java app called "HotViewer".

Personally, I use my Gmail account right through the N95's messaging- that way I'll get emails the moment they're sent. I think even with profimail, the app has to be on to get autonotifications.

Do you not like the built in software for emailing?

I don't really mind it. I like to be notified of email as soon as I get it without running another application in the background 24/7. It's especially nice that you can email pictures straight away after taking them. Someone says, "Hey, you gotta get me a copy of that one." You can just fire one off right there- no f-ing around with adding opening up an email client, adding an attachment- all of that bs. Then of course you can just save the address easily in your contacts. The integration works well for me.
