Hi aka,
The telephone-on-globe symbol you are referring to is indeed a symbol relating to Truphone. This symbol signifies that you have a successful registration (connection) to the Truphone service and you are able to make VoIP calls from your mobile.
You should also see (in the top right corner of your handsets main screen) a solid, white 4 leaf clover symbol to indicate a WLAN connection. This symbol appears first as Truphone uses WiFi to connect to a wireless access point.
The telephone-on-globe symbol will disappear when you no longer have a connection to Truphone i.e. you leave the WLAN area, so it doesn’t always run in the background – only when you need it.
The quickest and easiest way to connect to Truphone is by using the TruWizard. When a wireless access point is present run the Wizard (Menu>Applications>TruWizard) to use the N95s WiFi to search for the access point and connect to it, again you will see the 2 symbols appear in the top right corner of your standby screen to symbolise a successful registration.
To make a call simply input the number as you would a regular call and choose Options>Internet call. So you don't have to keep clicking Options>Internet call you can make Internet the default call type. To do this navigate to Menu>Tools>Settings>Phone>Call>Default call type>Internet (Please note that when not connected to Truphone calls will go out via your GSM operator as default).
