You dont need to download smart2go, its already installed on the phone. On devices that have it preinstalled (such as the
N95) it is called 'Maps'. You can find it in the applications folder.
You need to download the maps for your local area, though. First run the 'Maps' application on the phone at least once (this is required) and make sure your SD card is plugged into your phone when doing so. The maploader does take ages to download the maps. Only upside is you dont need to do it that often. If you've been having problems with being asked to run chkdsk and the like, you might want to try formatting your sd card and starting again from scratch. Bear in mind if you do, you will need to run the 'Maps' app on the phone at least once again to prepare it for downloading maps via the maploader on the pc. If you're running Vista there is quite a lot of patches pertaining to sd card compatibility problems so make sure you're up to date. Failing all else, your sd card might be damaged as it's not normal to receive those messages during a map download. Its like your sd card is losing connection as that is the kind of thing I would expect if you ripped it out in the middle of copying a file and then reinserted it. It could also be a faulty microsd to sd adapter your using? Definitely strange...
