1. Check you have enough space on sd card
2. Install TomTom Software (TomTom home)
3. Connect
N95 to PC/Mac USB connection, ensure you have seleted USB mass storage device on the phone interface(Do not use PC suite settings otherwise TomTom will not detect the device)
3. Select TomTom software (Symbian S60 series 3) and the relevant map/s you want to install and install
4. That should be it and then you can go on and configure TomTom, bluetooth GPS (external) , device unlock and personal preferences.

hope this helps. i installed a few weeks ago, but cannot rememder exacty what i did. wasnt too hard, worked fine but didnt pickup internal GPS (as everyone knows) uninstalled it straightaway for this reason and also the animation wasn't very smooth at all! the arrow (where you are on the map) was very jumpy. it looked like it would move the arrow every 1-2 seconds and just jump rather than smothly move it along the map. hope tt7 works better on
