SSH server? Seems a strange thing to want.
There is a version of putty which works very well.

an ssh server would make the n95 a much more convenient -- instead of carrying around a cable you could ad-hoc a network and just copy files. I'de al so be interested in ssh for symbian if anybody can find it :)

Yes, the putty ssh client is great have it istalled already, but now I want to acess my phone from outside. It would be kind of convinient to be able to run apps on the phone from my computer.

Okej, for instance, if I plug in my N95 to the tv and then realize I haven't copied the movie to the phone. If I then have a ssh server on the phone I access the phone from my laptop copy the file onto the phone and start the movie directly without having to leave the sofa.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but you could just as easily achieve that via bluetooth + windows explorer, or WiFi and Home Media Server (all included software with your phone).

I think the big problem you will have here is the lack of a command line interface, or perhaps some kind of X-windows server for symbian.

Yes, and that too. Maybe one day there could be such as thing - but having a phone as a server seems almost pointless - I'm not knocking the idea, but it goes fundamentally against the principles of such a thing, in the sense that a server is usually something you access in a remote location, and you always have your phone with you. Your phone is always going to the client, therefore the need for such a thing is almost non-existant.

Okey, I agree it was mainly for fun and the the feeling of really having a full computer in my pocket, the server.
Oh, by the way the command line thing, thats what I needed the compiler for. Guess I have to make that one myself...
