N95 screen rotate program

Sadly.. rotateMe doesn't work on the N95.

I wish there was, or I hope there is an existing program that rotates the screen and works with the N95. There is no good reason for Nokia not to add a software solution to do the screen rotating.. say, coming from landscape to portrait as most people would want their phone to idle that side up. Other than helping to wear out our sliders ($$$ for them), I don't know of any other that explains it logically.

Is pushing the slider 1cm not good enough for you.....? ;-)

I wish it was that easy, but the N95 doesn't rotate the screen not unless you slide all the way up.

I wouldn't mind a program like this in order to (as mentioned above) conserve the life of the slider.

Some of the Apps do have a menu option to rotate screen... web + maps at least I think.

yeh a wee tool or hotkey would be good to switch between modes no matter what screen you are on but you don't always have to open the slider.

Thing is.. if you try their rotate screen function, after exiting that program you will be returned to the original screen position. =(

Sadly no.. and it gets better! A few hours connected to USB without a charger would drain your battery.

Well... the way I see it, there's a few problems with software that would rotate the screen for any program. Aspect ratio of course- most software is of course not designed to run this way, menus would be screwed up from the orientation... games would be about impossible I'd imagine to just rotate- there's enough problems trying to run a program made for an Nseries device with a different resolution screen, let alone a screen with a different aspect ratio.

Also the buttons, anyone use TomTom6 in landscape mode? You can do it, if you start in landscape, but you can't change it by just forcing the rotate with the multimedia slider, it screws the program up- but even if you do get it running in landscape, the softkeys are confusing at times.
