I had to uninstall Truphone due to it locking-up and occasionally crashing the phone whilst trying to use it... Although I haven't tried it again with the latest firmware yet.

With the latest firmware WiFi is garbage and keeps crashing - so it's likely that it won't solve your problem - although it won't be truephones fault this time.
I think there is a conspiracy here, major mobile carriers paid off Nokia to cripple WiFi in the v12 update so as to stifle VIOP usage. LOL - kidding.
Although, everytime I load Fring now it crashes and I have to reboot the phone. WiFi has been totally unusable. Really annoying me. And what confidence can one have for the next update when it will be v13??? ;-)

Strange you should find that, I've used WiFi to link via SymSMB repeatedly since I upgraded (using EURO 1 code 0534841, as recommended by your partner-in-crime, Pseudo) and I've had no problems at all, if anything it's connected more rapidly than before.
Yeah, the idea of a v.13 doesn't inspire confidence.. I'll let you upgrade first! ;)

LOL - I think I'm going to have to, there are too many v12 problems for me, I wish Nokia would pump the next one out, I honestly wish I'd stayed on v11. But that's a conversation for another thread... ;-)
There are plenty of people reporting problems with WiFi and V12 in the forums, you've not seen any?

No problems at all with WiFi, only glitch so far is media key needing two long presses instead of one when returning to the MP3 app and very occasional lack of response to other key presses, nothing major so far though...

Yeah the key thing SUCKS. It happens to me but with any key, at random. Kind hurts if you play games on your N95 and you need key presses to actually work exactly as you press them. Many folks have also reported this happening to them (keypresses on ANY key fail at random) but for me the most consistent one is the media key as well. It wouldn't make much sense if people had different experiences I guess.

so would it be fare to say that truphone is more about replecating the experiance of a phone call to actual phones via truphone out or whatever, and that fring is more about integration with voip programs for your pc?

Well, TruPhone is rumoured to have higher voice quality, and as you know is free to other Truphone users, and until December free to landlines and mobiles in a lot of countries.
Fring, is free to other Fingsters, free to Skype, free to Gtalk, free to MSN, free to other SIP programs, but as far as VOIP goes, the quality is not quite as good as Truphone.
Fring, can also be used to textchat to Skype, GTalk, and MSN users and other Fring users.
It is a MUST have program (especially for IM!), although I think TruPhone is better at VOIP so it's a must have too!

On which network can Truphone be used? Currently, I'm on Vodafone and am considering upgrading from my Nokia 6680 to N95.
