N95 Software Links Needed Please

Coming to Symbian from 'The Dark Side' (WM) purely because of the N95, I'd like to find some programs that I miss having... And I hope that you Nokia Gurus out there will be able to point me in the right direction to find them.

1. I need an audio-player that will handle MP2, as I have a DAB radio-recorder that uses this format and it would be good to be able to cut out the MP2->MP3 conversion stage.

2. Ideally I'd like an MP2 editor that will run on the phone itself, not the PC. I realise that this is a very tall order, so even an MP3 editor would be ok for now. Perhaps a simple ringtone editor would do the job?

3. Is there a program that will enable me to use all the wasted space on the N95 home-screen? Maybe a permanent weather-guide, that kind of utility, or even better, a way of increasing the number of Active standby selection buttons.

I guess that's enough for now... So if anyone has any recommendations, links etc... I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

OOPS! Mods... MOVE this to Software please, I can't flamin' delete it!

You took your time! I bet I could have activated an iPhone (almost) whilst waiting for you to wake up! ... BTW, did you realise that there is an 'activation fee' of $39, payable to AT&T if you transfer from another Telco?

Don't tell me that you're still saving up for one! There's no need, if you wait a few months, there'll be the 'Free iPod' type offers on the 'Net... Sign up ten friends and you get a free iPhone sorta scam... Question is, have you got ten friends? And if you have, are they dumb enough to sign up?

shhhh spook, never mention WM here... I too came from the darkplace... I hated my mpx220, worst phone choice ever. Luckily, it finally broke on me :)

Have you tried Handy Taskman? I don't use it, but the description sounds close to what you want as far as multiple apps accessible...

mp2s, can't help, sorry.

Thanks for the tip Geoff, I'll give it a shot...

You reckon we should keep quiet about WM, eh? ;)

I prefer the OS to the locked-down symbian one and this GUI took a bit of getting used to... Worth it for the N95 though, WM has nothing that even comes close... so far!

Marlboroman... It sounds like the kind of thing I'm looking for! :)

Best Taskman 2.01, now at the store, is the Best Taskman. Handy Taskman can't even show running processes! You get a 'Security Error'. Best Taskman 2.01 has no problems, plus it has a sweet ALT-TAB style clone for switching apps which is really cool.
