Google forces removal of Google Maps from Mobile GMaps

The new version of mgmaps has no Google maps as the developer Cristian Streng received a "cease and desist" from the "Google Enforcement Team"

He has however added a "Custom Maps" setting where you can add any mapping application and get maps from there.

So:

http://mt.google.com/mt - URL for custom maps to give Google Maps
http://kh.google.com/kh?v=20 - URL for custom maps to give Google Satellite

No hybrid yet, I'm sure someone will figure out a way ;)

WOW! The "Google Enforcement Team", eh? Sounds like they're about to send 'The Boys' round!

Well, this should give an excellent program some good publicity... And I'm not talking about Google Maps!

Talk about shooting themselves in the foot and shutting the stable door after the horse has bolted!

Aren't I glad that I've the recent MGmaps downloaded and stored... That'll last me a good while.

Most likely but as has been stated on several different occasions elsewhere on the 'Net, MGmaps predates Google Mobile Maps by a considerable period of time!

But when does that ever stop big firms with lots of money for expensive lawyers?

They prob also had a patent lying around for many years on it.
