writing applications for the N95

Hi :)

Just wondering what kind of development environment is best suited for developing apps on the N95. I've writing stuff for windows mobile devices, using an IDE with a device emulator built in which was meant to make it easier for testing.

I've never looked into symbian though. It is the accelerometer that I want to play with.

Any tips, greatly appericated.

You can find all the SDK's you need here, although for full S60 3rd support, it would be worth looking into Open C developement if you're not fully aquainted with it yet

I installed latest JRE, the Perl-version required, Carbide and the S60 3rd FP1 SDK. Following the instrucitons on how to verify the SDK installation, you are to build the "HelloWorld" example, but I get the error "Nothing to do"...

Anyone else have tried to get started with S60 programming getting stuck like me?

Also, are there any good tutorials and/or introductions you would recommend if you are a good programmer, but have never developed mobile before?

I've enjoyed developing on Windows Mobile for years, with on-device debugging as well as emulators.

On-device debugging for the N95 requires a costly version of Carbide C++ and the emulator for S60 3rd FP1 doesn't work in Vista, so I haven't bothered. Shame, as I quite fancied writing a very low footprint geotagging application to run in the background.
