Calendar entries on home screen

Does anyone know if an app exists that can be used as a calendar but can also output upcoming entries on the home screen?

I tried active standby but that is useless, all those icons along the top are not required, plus it sticks that stupid search on there, aswell as wlan scanning, a waste of space. It does not even display any real info for entries in the calendar, I would like it if it just displayed say about 10 or so entries, regardless of how far away they are, just the next few in sequence.

Unfortunately you cannot customise the active standy in that way at all

You could always turn it off?
Menu -> Tools -> Settings -> General -> Personalisation -> Standby mode -> Active standby -> Off

I know it can be turned off my friend, it currently is. The reason it is turned off is because I want just upcoming events and todo items etc listed, I really do not want any of the other junk, I never use it.

I assume it can be done somehow, guess I will just have to wait until someone has the foresight to create an app to do this. E series phones have this, why on earth did Nokia not include it on the N series? A bit short sighted if you ask me.

Cheers for confirming what I already suspected.

It's more for security reasons on the N95 I believe - We may never see customisation of that sort :(

Very short sighted of Nokia,i'm sure they like to not give us what we really want in some features.
