Is it at all possible to even get a publisher ID?

So if I understand this correctly without a publisher ID, the only option for us at the moment is to try use the online signing?

Will this ever change or are we all somewhat screwed :(

Thanks guy.

(just got my N95 8GB the other day.. loving it so far)

You need to pay to get a publisher ID.
Online signing?Your only option is to wait for devcert request(for those who do not have the id) to be enabled..or get yourself a publisher id.

So most of us newbies are screwed for the time being.. really limits the amount of goodies we can install :(
Without of course pestering people who already have a cert/ID, which im not too keen on doing.

Thanks for the reply mate.

The only option is to wait currently. Other people having certificates is of no use to you because they'll have signed the application for their phone, not yours !

Quick question - what is a Publisher ID?

I don't think it is the same thing as having an account with Symbian Signed right? I was trying to find out on the SymbianSigned website how to go about obtaining one.

A publisher ID costs money and assumes you are a publisher of applications rather than a free account which allows you to 'open sign' rather than get commercial signing for an application you wish to release for example.

None of the signing methods for those who haven't a certificate (no longer available, so don't ask!) will work any more...

Go here and Read, Learn & Inwardly Digest! ;)
