Wow. I honestly thought you'd like this one, I was wrong lol
I've yet to try it on a journey in the car, but I've been impressed so far.
Bottom line, I hate Garmin. I'll take Sygic over that any day of the week.

Tis a shame to be sure, maybe Im too picky?
Id be tempted to think so, but the simple fact nothing on symbian is as good as my old mio PDA with tomtom navigator 5 on it.
Im not keen on Garmin either, but with the lastest maps I'll give it a go. Navigon remains the best for routing and postcodes and instructions at the moment, but the toll thing doesnt work! So a combo of route66 and navigon has to be used.
Due for a hour long trip this weekend, so will try garmin again. Doesnt have the postcode though, dispite being up to date

I don't think its a case of being too picky, more a case of expecting the high quality standards that TomTom set, from the other players.
Out of the ones I've tried to date, Sygic stands out for me - despite the lack of full postcode search. Garmin is hideous and the UI is totally unfriendly IMO. Briefly tried Route66 - didn't do it for me. Then there's the inbuilt Nokia software. I've mainly used that until Sygic. Sygic is what the Nokia inbuilt software should have been.
If Sygic add full postcode support, which I'm sure they will do, I can't imagine its too hard to implement, then I'll purchase it for definite. I can forgo the other issues you pointed out about the voice directions, they're only minor niggles to me personally, plus I look at the screen too :P lol

Yeah, I did really like the options on sygic, especially the advanced ones - although they shouldnt make you go all through them to change one thing.
I can live with a semi rubbish UI, although copilot was well over that line into godawful, as long as the actual navigation is ok.
I havent used V7 of route66, but the inbuilt version on the 6110 is sh...poo hot on everything - bar navigation! Otherwise, its perfect.
They will have to work on the voice directions for me to even look at sygic it again.
Also, the turn slightly right I got on a straight road - such a bad sign.
Oh, I forgot to mention. On another straight bit of road, there was what I can only describe as a inverted kink. As I watched onscreen, the car apperently followed it and looked like it went upside down!
By the way, how do you zoom in on the browse map? Is 9 the highest it goes, but it looks like I can zoom to another level on the sidebar, but dont know what button it is. Seems to be 0-9, 9 being the most zoomed in.

Just got an email from Sygic, they are giving me a trial copy, which is valid for 7 days. Currently downloading the maps.
Will try it, and see if theres any improvments.

Will do, IF I can get it working. Said in the email theres how to instructions, but they seem to have missed them out!
Tried it in many ways (including copying how the previous version was - have deleted all trace of that before I installed the new one though) but no joy.
Went through all the setup options and activated the maps with the trial code, and it just exited. Now everytime I start it, I have to go through the setup options, and when I get to the map, it quits.
Currently awaiting a response, but with less than 6 days left on my trial, its not a lot of time for a test!

Bart, have a look in the GBR maps folder. Is there a file with the extension .POS? Eg. GBR.POS?
If so, try removing that file completely and seeing if the application still quits.

Don't you also need the GBR.mlm file for the map?
Unless that's just for the 'other' version.

Sigh.
Good advice Logan, did that and it stopped exiting, but also made me activate the map again. Put in the code given, but it now says its expired. That was a bloody short 7 days.
Getting tired quick, still havent recieved a reply to my initial question.
So presumably I'll have to send another saying my trial has expired without me evenbeing able to use it. And then wait more days, to get a code that will only last a day!
My verdict so far - dont buy, or even use.
