Ov2 to upi.

I can convert them ok and get them to show up as options. For some reason the icon doesnt appear. I think I may need to convert the bmp to 8bit.

I just used Sygic and its not bad. Its basically the same as TomTom just not as polished.

Ah, ok.

Is the routing comparable to tomtom? If so, Im more than willing to have one a bit rough round the edges.

BTW, how did you get it? I applied on the downloads bit, I assume thats how you do it?

The routing is not bad. The version I have is 7.0 Build 89 D. I think there is a more up to date version, I just read that this version definately works. (I got it off a "friend", lets call him Mr.R.Share).

The one thing it hasnt got is full postcode search and for some reason the voice i choose calls roundabouts, roundouts. Very annoying.

It is smooth when in 3d and in top down mode.

So far Id say it is definately worth a look.

I used this last night on a 40 minute run from work to home. It wasnt perfect but is ok. I prefer it to Garmin XT as it shows more on the display screen that is relevant e.g. next turn and looks better IMO.

It basically feels like a TOMTOM clone but without all the features and polish.

Sygic havent got back to me, so I used one I found lying around. And before anyone has a go, I reiterate I definatly would pay for a valid copy if its any good.

Unfortunatly, its crap.

First off, no postcode search, only first 3 letters/numbers.

Worse, is the navigation. Dont know about routes yet as I just did a short trip to the shops, but the instructions blow to be honest.

Basically, it does the usual of informing you of a turn twice, once at 300 yards, and again when your almost on it.

Except the first time, it doesnt say 'in 300 yards..' it just says 'turn left/right'.

This happened everytime, so its not as if it was a one off. And if I had listened to it, and not known the route or looked at the screen, Id have turned down a few roads I shouldnt have.

And while on a straight road with no turnings I got the 'turn slightly right' instruction, never a good sign.

If they send me a copy to try, I will hoping for improvements. But for the first time, I have to say I will not be buying this one to try it. And it will be deleted from my phone. Normally I would try it on a longer journey, but with those instructions and no full postcode support, its already usless.

Yet again, the hopes are stacked on an uncaring tomtom.

*sigh*
