Yes mate, it can definitely be considered as tethering
And it simply uses any packet data connection availible, so yes that includes GPRS/EDGE too

ok so how do they know if you're tethering or not, I signed up for unlimited data and asked if that includes tethering and they said no. Still haven't figured out how they know.

The trick is to not ask questions.
I've been tethering the hell out of my Nokias for a while now- and it's really gone wild since I got the N95 almost a year ago. I wouldn't worry about it much, or at least I don't worry about it. :)
Seriously, I've used over 6 gigs of data before on my AT&T unlimited medianet plan in a month, several times (that I'm paying a whopping 9 dollars a month for, and will until the day I die or AT&T goes out of business- no way I'm changing that contract!) and have had zero problems.
Don't tell those bozo's you're tethering, and don't go hog wild downloading the torrents of every movie you can remember the name of and you should be fine. They don't know you're tethering unless you tell them. If they ever say, "Hey, you're getting a little nuts with your data plan, sir"- just tell them you have an N95, explain that the thing has a massive thirst for data, it's not a PDA, you don't connect it to your laptop, that you don't use it as an Open Network sharing your bandwidth with the world around you at will, and respectfully request that they 'screw'.
That being said- This... App... ROCKS. Can't wait to share my 3.5G connection with the first poor I come across trying to surf with his iPhone on EDGE.
Mega-geek factor, pulling a wifi router out of your pocket. Add it to the ever growing list of things your N95 can do. :D

see Pseudo why do you have to say that after I decided to call AT&T and ask they how they know I'm tethering. The guy said when tethering the phone connects to a different access point so I didn't pay attention much after that. He quoted me some numbers on tethering packages and I told him I don't really care about the internet that much so I would never bother I was just curious.

This has really come at a good time for me and potentially solves a problem I was working on. So the Thanks I placed on the original post is more like: "Excellent, nice one, Thanks very much!"

I wish I knew what word I put in there that was censored... I usually try to keep it pretty tame.
Anyway- the bit about the connecting to a different access point when tethering.... I can only imagine that's BS. The phone is already connected to the 3G network, it's not like dialup or anything. I mean, the N95 allows the connection to the secondary device, whether it's via WiFi or BT- AT&T (and here comes my censor pal again) doesn't know dick about it. That guy either doesn't know, and has been told to state this is how it works, or is a corporate swine liar. Either way, unless I'm very much mistaken- the only way is for you to tell them. And either way that goes- I don't care. :)

well.. i didnt want to risk the whole tethering charges(seeing articles about people getting fined thousands of dollars) soo i called t-mobile usa.
they said as long as you have the t-mobile total internet, then your good. i had them transfer me to a tech to clarify and make sure. so people on tzones shouldnt use it.
bad thing is.. no 3g. =[

aight I'm confused... so this apps doesn't let you use your phone as an wireless network card (to connect to your home wireless router), but does allow you to use your packet connection from your PC...
Doesn't PC suite already offer this??

Nah, mate. I think you've got it backwards. This app basically allows your N95 to be the router, and your PC, Tablet, PDA, PSP- anything with wifi can connect to the Internet through your N95's mobile data (3g, EDGE...)
You don't connect to your computer's internet with it, you connect the N95's internet to your computer with it. ;)
