You don't connect to your computer's internet with it, you connect the N95's internet to your computer with it. ;)

You don't even need PC Suite to get bluetooth access, its dead simply to set up with whatever flavour of bluetooth application lives on your computer. I've used mine that way for the last month, been very good. 3G speeds aren't great here in NZ, but I'm getting around 100K a second, compared to my only other alternative being dialup at 5K a second...
BTW, has anyone got Joikuspot to work? I know some people have, but my computer just doesn't seem to like it - it sees the connection and says its connected but can't do anything with it. Browsers just sit there. So far all I have done to try and sort it out is setting the browser to automatically detect proxy settings, which someone suggested somewhere, but that did not resolve it.

Hah! Great N95 > iPhone story. Is your friend sick of his "amazing new phone" constantly being outdone?

I can`t get this to work, I can connect to the wlan (looks like an ad hoc network?) and I do get an ip adress from the "dhcp server" in the program. but I can`t seem to get anny connection to the internet on my pc.
I try to use 3g on my n95-1 with v20, annyone else experienced this problem ?

Once connected it will take you to the JoikuSpot own page with a google search. This took about 2-3mins to load but after that browsing was slow but worked fine.

I tried it today at work. As many people say, I get a connection and assigned an IP address (so it seems the N95 is a DHCP Server and is doing the NATing).
I could ping the Gateway (The N95) but couldn't get anywhere else. I thought it may be DNS, so I pinged a few known addresses, to no avail.
Trace Route fell at the Gateway too.
I did play for a few minutes and tried the browser too, but the software on the phone didn't clock up ant packets and I didn't get to any web pages.
I guess it's onto step 2: Read the instructions. LOL

Same here..my laptop sees the hotspot..it gets an IP but won't get online. Not worth the effort to go any further..so for me this app is useless at the moment. Any ideas?
Update: Somehow this is now working. Quite well too I may add..may be useful in a pinch when the dsl is on the blink..

For all those having problems connecting not "connecting" but browsing the web once connected, you will need to go to Internet Options> Connections> LAN Settings, in IE, and check the box for Automatically Detect Settings..
Or for for firefox users: Tools> Options> Advanced> Settings> then check: atuo-detect proxy settings.
That will get you browsing ;) i've just done it, working fine for me! but i still can only download at 40kb/s with my 3G connection, i was hoping it would be faster seeing as i was on USB connection before and the baud rate for that was 480 kbps, so i'm not sure why i cant go faster....

That would depend on what you are doing.
Your web browser for instance sends certain information to the web server, this includes the browser version and operating system.
Here's an extract from my webserver log.
212.183.134.xxx - - [09/Feb/2008:00:04:23 +0000] "GET /zm/zm_html_styles.css HTTP/1.1" 200 4870 "http://xxxxxxxxxxxxx/zm/" "Mozilla/5.0 (SymbianOS/9.2; U; Series60/3.1 NokiaN95/20.0.015; Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 ) AppleWebKit/413 (KHTML, like Gecko) Safari/413"
There are ways to disguise this, but they might be an even bigger giveaway that you are not browsing from the phone.
