since tmo doesn't have 3g, i used this app using their total internet and it worked good. obviously it's slow but i'm happy with the fact that i can use my phone with my laptop and i don't have to look for wifi when i'm out or pay for it. it's slow but it will do with browsing and checking emails... i do my downloads at home anyways.
finally upgraded to total internet huh? this than bt'ing or tether with usb.

Got it! ... for the EEE PC that is (in advanced mode).
The solution is courtesy of cfyau over at the eeeuser.com forums:

"I tried with the following settings and it works with my N95:

TCP/IP settings on EEE PC:

IP : 192.168.2.2
net mask : 255.255.255.0
gateway : 192.168.2.1
DNS : 192.168.2.1

Wireless mode : Ad-hoc

Please start the Connection on EEE PC first, then start the app. on the phone.

Hope that it works for you too."

And thats it. Treat the JoikuSpot like a regular WiFi connection, set all of those attributes manually in the network configuration deal, and open the connection on your EEE first.
Everything should be smooth sailing!

Are you aware that the developers of JoikuSpot can see all your internet data like bank login datas and more?
