anyone on 3 uk that wants to use this are kinda beat i think, for now.
i was reading this post on joiku and the reply was that in the final version there will be user settings to disable the landing page on 3...

-----------------------------------------------------
The app runs well on the N95 under 3 UK, but when you try to connect an external device (ipod touch, laptop etc) the app tries to connect to joiku.com - but 3 forces a redirect to the warning page ('You are about to connect to the internet, click here' etc) - then Joiku takes over and tries to redirect to joiku.com, hence a Redirect loop (Too Many Redirects!)

Can the app be changed to not force the first page to be Joiku.com ? That really would help anyone on a network where the first page is a Warning, Click Here - BEFORE you get to the internet?

Yes I have tried browsing to an internet site, then running Joikuspot, but the results are the same

THANKS!

Have issues with my TalkTalk service at the moment i.e. crackly line and no broadband, I suspect my drop cable ...

Anyway ...

A friend at work showed me this applicaiton and I downloaded it onto my Nokia N95 and was able to connect my desktop or laptop and browse the internet immediately with no issues :-)

I simply changed my wifi settings to allow any available network and found the Joikuspot network and bingo ...

Brilliant application even in it's current state ...

BTW I have a 3 data X-series gold contract ... Download speed is about 0.8 mbs ...

Martin

I found JoikuSpot on the Software page, and it mentioned exclusively 3G. Being skeptical, since 3G is not available in China yet, and I don't have an extra CDMA modem to provide internet to my laptop, I decided to just do it ... I have a GPRS/Edge connection, typically between 4-30K per second.

It installed on my N95 in a snap ... turned it on, fired up the laptop, and the N95 froze. Thinking I had too many apps running at the time, I rebooted the N95 and started JoikuSpot right away. The laptop saw it, I told it to connect, and it did so in a snap.

I told it to go to Google, it brought me the JoikuSpot homepage (which it tells you of this in the user guide). After that, browsing was a breeze! Slow, but that would be expected with a GPRS connection.

All in all, I say it performs as advertised, and should get me out of a pinch or two when I'm in a remote area with no Wifi ... Thanks to the development team!!!

My understanding is that it only works with HTTP and HTTPS right now. Maybe that's why they call it "Lite". I'm waiting for them to finish this toy!!!

There's a little more ... I'm using it right now in Shanghai ... N95 is plugged into a recharger about 5 meters away, and I'm still well connected. It works great with HTTP.

For HTTPS, I cannot seem to login to Hotmail, though I've done all the necessary configuration on my web browsers. Anyone else have this problem??
