Turn Your N95 into a Wifi Hotspot with JoikuSpot

Turn your S60 device into a WiFi hotspot!

Looks pretty good to me. I cant seem to get it to work on my Three connection yet, purely because Three direct you to their own page to confirm you actually want to access the internet, before you do so. The re-direct for this is playing up for me just now, so might need me to butcher it a bit.

Looks very promising, although the N95 battery is gonna take a hammering with a 3G and wifi connection active.

EDIT: I have just received an email from the Tom, the founder of JoikuSoft with instructions on how to get around the problems with the Three UK splash screen.

To save typing it up here again, please check out the post on MY BLOG

does these mean you won't get 'tethering' charges?

I doubt it. Although it's not strictly tethering, with the amount of data transferred, I imagine they willl know what you are up to. Whether they decide to act on it or not is up to them I suppose.

That is definitely something to look into though. I'm still not sure exactly how they know you're tethering but I'd actually consider the -3 for 3G support with this one. If they didn't consider it tethering and I could stick with my unlimited data plan then I'd love it.

This was a nice find by Stefan (great guy, met him at Nokiaworld) - shame there is no possibility for secure network as yet. Hopefully that will come with an update...

Right!

After deleting the 6th duplicate post for this application, I have just realised that this thread did not actually mention the name 'JoikuSpot' at all - LOL (Apologies to the ones who posted this after searching and not finding anything)

The name has been added to the title, so hopefully this is the last we hear of JoikuSpot (Until a new version is released anyway)

if it wasn't posted by members we know and that have been here a while I would have raised the spam flag quickly but quess everyone just thought this was an awesome idea. I still want to get confirmation on wether this is tethering or not. Oh and does it work with non 3G support?
