Hi.

First post, so firstly a quick hello to everyone. I've been lurking on these forums for about two weeks now as I have just recently got my hands on an N95-1.

I'll hop on the bandwagon of people having problems with GenialSIS and .Net 3.5. I'm running Vista x64, and it was working fine around a week ago before I formatted and reinstalled the OS. Now it keeps giving me the same error as everyone else.

I have .Net framework 3.5 installed, but no joy. Will follow this thread with interest and hopefully we will get a solution to the problem.

Hello,
Can't be the reinstallation of the vista os. I've tried it after installing an image of Vista dated january 12 2008. Genialsys still came up with the error message. But, on the site of symbian sys it states that until feb 18 there will be no developers certificate downloads except certain times. Maybe there's the cause of the problem?????

Anyway, i'm getting a little anxious due to this dissapointment.

Greetings to you all.
Klaas (Netherlands)

Hi -

I am also running into this issue (with the 3.5 framework etc - even though I have uninstalled and re-installed it many times). I believe someone had responded to my post stating that it could possibly be that the SymbianSigned website is still down (and now limited to the time of day etc) and that is potentially the reason why we are getting that error message.

I was able to at least proceed further in the GenialSis process (several days ago when the website was up initially however ever since they have been taking it down, that error now comes up.

I also tried going through the upload webpage on SymbianSigned but I think they were having issues since I started (Friday - 2/8).

hmmm, It might be symbiansigned with the problem, I really dont know.. I've updated my computer to "windows XP service pack 3" and installed the "distributional package of .NET 3.5" so I know all the files were installed correctly..

I've tried signing at the times SS.com is supposed to be online, and it still errors out on me.......

Is anyone out there who is still using GenialSIS without any issues?

Im really getting naffed at this problem now. Why cant SS.com get their site stable and running right for pete sake....

Rob..

Just to confirm for those who might still be scratching their heads. The problem IS Symbiansigned.com.. I managed to uplaod the csr file and obtain a certificate when the sight wasn't having a "maintainance break"..

Thanks for your replys anyrate guys & girls... Lets hope SS.com can stay functional for more than 24hrs..

Regards,

Rob.

Yes, it is SS.com.. Their site is operating intermitantly at the moment, but I went on their site, and when you can request on the site, GenialSIS will work most of the time.. But SS are weening down the backlog slowly as their website says.. This is because if they were to allow 100% of the request to go through(tens of thousands they say), it would crash the server..

So you will get the error almost everytime because the server load hasn't leveled off yet..

It's like building a dam on a stream and leaving it for a week to do repairs downstream.. You're gonna have a massive lake behind it to slowly drain off before you can take the dam away for good. You dont want to release the whole lake and destroy everything in it's path do ya?
