Fring v3.30 with T-Mobile's Total Internet

i'm writing this because i found a little solution to use t-mobile's total internet for voip/sip calls. i thought it wouldn't work because t-mo's TI is not 3g. i installed truphone and that didn't work... i also tried gizmo but no luck either. so what i did, i uninstalled truphone because it kinda made my phone runs slow... then i installed fring just to test it out for its IM. when i saw sip there i logged in my gizmo and it worked. i can call using gizmo through fring! i tried going to gizmo again but i can't make a call directly from there though i'm connected. this is my first time with voip/sip calling since i don't really need it... i'm just happy t-mo's total internet worked. :)

I had installed fring too. As soon as I booted the phone, I was asked to connect to the server, then the bar that shows you are connected to the server came on and stayed on, as long as the phone was turned on. It seemed to work great while I used it, but if those bars on, aren't you paying for air time?

i don't really use internet calling much but i think it only takes out your credits when you have an incoming/outgoing call but not use your airtime with your service provider.

Any one has an experience call quality on open source sip client(like fring,Yeigo) call over T-mobile "Sidekick® Data" network in USA ?
